Serbia plans €15bn energy infrastructure investments
Serbia plans to invest approximately €15bn in energy infrastructure in the upcoming years, Milan Aleksic, assistant to the energy minister responsible for the electricity sector, told the CIGRE Serbia 2023 conference on electric power in Zlatibor.
Albania hikes electricity exports in Q1
In the first quarter of 2023 Albania witnessed a significant increase in its electricity exports. Data from statistics office Instat show that gross exports, including exchanges, soared to 904 GWh from 373 GWh a year earlier, rising by 2.4 times.
Russian coal shipments up 18% in 4M23
Shipment of all types of coal at Russian ports increased 18.3% in January-April 2023, Kommersant daily reported. In 2022, Russia's coal exports were down 1% to 221mn tonnes, according to the previous reports by the Ministry of Energy.
Uzbekistan becomes Central Asia's number one in renewable energy
Heavy investment into a few mega projects means that power-hungry Uzbekistan now has about 2.6 GW of green energy capacity, ahead of Kazakhstan – the first country in Central Asia to invest into renewable power.
